Our Adventure sessions are perfect for families and take place outside at locations in and around the Buxton area. We find being outside is perfect for those looking for natural and candid photographs. With the space to explore we find you relax, forget we are taking photos and enjoy the moment-making. We want to catch a slice of your life in a storytelling way. You get to play, laugh, and have fun and I will also catch the sweet, softer, in-between moments that you always wished someone was able to capture. That’s how your images become more than just “family photos” but beautiful memories of an adventure that your family will look at for years to come.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Family photos are fun and relaxed... all you have to do is play and interact with the people you love most in the entire world. Everything else falls into place. Don't worry I’ll give you all as much gentle guidance as you need, so that you can relax and be yourselves. I’ll help you plan an activity or outing, Whether it's a woodland adventure, climbing trees and playing hide and seek. Dancing together to your favorite song by a beautiful view, or cuddling on a blanket telling silly jokes and reading books...I want you to be relaxed and happy while I’m creating your images, for you all to have a fun experience as well as end up with some beautiful images.

The real focus is making you comfortable enough to be yourselves - snuggling, laughing, chasing each other. I’ll give you enough direction to start out, with the hope that you end up in your own little world, laughing together while I capture everything for you.Sometimes I may give a prompt and leave it open to interpretation so you can make it your own. Other times we may get you to sit on a wall or blanket, but then play a game or get a conversation started to get everyone interacting. We will direct you into the best light, angles, etc...we want the whole photograph to tell a bit of the story, but don’t want it so candid that it is distracting to you and your lovely family (i.e. – a tree sticking out of someone’s head).

Keeping everyone moving and distracted helps everyone to feel more comfortable. This is when you forget the camera is on you and you just enjoy the time with your favourite people. Rather than standing stiffly and saying cheese, you’ll play, embrace, explore, and laugh until everyone is having so much fun, your true personalities can’t help but shine through. Even the bashful teens and camera shy grown ups will enjoy themselves I hope!

I get asked all the time what if my children are shy or what if they don't want their photo taking. My answer every time is Don't worry...I completely understand how unpredictable younger clients can be, before E&M I worked in early years for over 20 years and have a level 3 diploma so your little ones are in good hands. I take time to talk with your little ones find out their favourite things, we explore, play hide and seek and tell jokes. I usually bring along Martin on family sessions as then I can play and engage with the little ones to help them feel more at ease while Martin takes the photos. I make sure I have my bag of games, puppets and books to help...Bubbles, fairy dust and lots of imaginative play too. You name it I've done it...singing, dancing to your little ones favourite song...just generally being being silly to get those special belly laughs.

I’ve worked with lots of mums to be and I totally understand your concerns and I’ll guide you through the whole process effortlessly, trust me we will work together to create a beautiful memories...if you want a silhouette or woodland backdrop with a beautiful dress we can document this special time how you want to. You wont regret it in years to come when you look back on your journey to motherhood!

NEWBORN

Capturing the first fleeting moments of your baby’s life is more than a photoshoot; it’s a celebration of love, family, and new beginnings. We will come to your home and join you in that newborn bubble to tell a part of your unique story with our images. The moments that define the heart and soul of your family.

I don't use props and pose in newborn sessions. The most I bring is a big blanket or a fluffy rug for your little one to lie on. Its all about capturing the beauty of your family in a completely natural way. I might guide you towards the best light (i.e. carry on cuddling your baby, but just stand here in the beautiful window light!).

Since these aren’t overly posed sessions, they can be booked 1-4 weeks after birth (or even later if you wish!). I love when a baby is able to stay awake and really connect with their new family, it is entirely up to you.

I absolutely adore animals, having dogs, cats and rabbits over the years I know what a special member of the family pets are. Bring them along to a family session or you can treat them to a photo session of their very own. We have a passion for capturing the unique personalities of pets in our photographs. We take a relaxed approach, which allows us to capture your pet's natural behavior and quirks. By spending time getting to know you and your pet, whether your pet is energetic and playful or calm and serene, we'll make sure their unique spirit shines through in every shot.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Capturing the unique personalities of your pets and the wonderful relationship between pets and their families is one of my favourite things to do. My pet photography service is completely flexible – I can come to your home, or meet you out and about to capture the true essence of your pet’s personality. Some folks are looking for shots of their beloved companions on their own, others want to include them in a family photo.

Animals like us humans are all very different. So for your pet to be comfortable and happy we will tailor sessions to the needs of your pet.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Wedding Photography with E&M is tailored to you, we don't have packages A,B or C as we believe a wedding is a celebration of two people. A day dedicated to you as a couple, that's why we arrange a chat face to face or over the phone to discuss what you want from YOUR day. You have spent hours and months planning your special day which is why we want to capture the things YOU want. If you want us from preparations in the morning until your first dance or just ceremony photo's it is entirely up to you.

Every Wedding is completely different which is why we tailor our prices accordingly as to what you want.

After our chat I will give you a couple of options for you to choose from detailing what you get in each. No hidden extras, no package full of things you don't want.

There will be times when I will use a photojournalistic style to capture hugs and tears and proud smiles. Then there are certain shots, such as the signing of the register, throwing the confetti and cutting the cake etc which, although traditional shots, I like to capture as naturally as possible, with a just a tiny bit of organisation from myself. We like to take the newlyweds away from the crowd, just for 15 minutes or so, to get some couples shots in and around the wedding venue. This gives you both some time together away from all the guests to take a step back and enjoy the day you have planned.

HOW IT WORKS?

Get in touch to let me know you are interested in us capturing your wedding, fill out the contact form and explain your vision and date. I’d love to hear all about your wedding plans! If my style feels like the right fit for you, I will then arrange meeting up in a cafe or pub, somewhere for us to have a relaxed chat and get an idea of what you would like for your day. It also gives me and you an idea if I am the photographer for you.

After meeting up I will give you a couple of pricing options based on our conversation for you to look at. If you want to go ahead a small non refundable deposit will be required to secure your date.

We will be with you every step of the way, questions timings...photo's you'd like. Photo's you'd forgotten about but then think ahh I would like that. Don't worry just message! We will meet closer to the day just to get timings and just have a chat about any specific images you want. This is so we are prepared and will then help the day go smother.

04.

Have the most beautiful day while we capture it for you. I will be armed with tissues, hair spay, hair grips, safety pins, plasters and a fan (honestly the best thing in my emergency supplies bag! There is two of us with cameras to assure we don't miss anything and help organise the little ones too!

05.

After your wedding your images will be professionally edited and you will receive your images on a USB in a beautiful keepsake box with some prints. You can also have access to a private online gallery for your guests to view and download the images. We will give you the information to forward to everyone to save you giving the photos to people.

WHERE WILL THE SESSION TAKE PLACE?

It is entirely up to you, although I will usually chat with you and work out what would be best for your family.The possibilities are honestly endless. We live in such a beautiful place – there is so much to explore. It also depends what you like doing as a family and what you would like the photographs to look like. I can come to your home, or we can head out somewhere that you enjoy spending time, or I can suggest options. There are so many amazing locations to choose from so I’ve got lots to suggest so don't worry if you don’t have anywhere in mind. *Travel costs may incur if further a field but this will be discussed beforehand.
HOW LONG WILL THE SESSION TAKE?

Sessions usually take around 60-90 minutes, although I always suggest you allow 2 hours just so that we don’t feel rushed. I’m happy to be flexible and work around you, so we can stop for snacks and breaks, etc. Don't worry we are in no way strict with times. We go with how everyone is feeling on the day. Showcase sessions vary with location and outfit changes.
WHAT IF SOMEONE IS POORLY?

We’ll reschedule if you guys are sick, and we’ll also reschedule if I’m sick! It’s no problem at all... Its life and it happens, especially with little ones...If someone isn’t feeling great they wont enjoy the session and you to get the best photos you can. Your deposit will move to the new date!
WHAT IF IT RAINS?

It’s Derbyshire its a big possibility and especially Buxton I find has its own weather system so there’s always a chance we’ll get a rainy forecast, no matter if you book your session in winter or summer! If it is raining, we will reschedule your session. If the forecast looks wet, we can either make the call the night before, or play it by ear and wait til morning. I’ll be in contact in the days leading up to the session to chat about our options. The weather can make a huge difference to the photographs, so I’d usually recommend waiting for a better day. Or you are very welcome to go ahead with wellies and raincoats if you are feeling brave! I only book a certain amount of sessions a month to give us the flexibility to rearrange should you wish to if the weather isn't kind to us on the day of your session.
WHAT HAPPENS WITH THE PHOTOS AFTER THE SESSION?

I will curate the photos taken and give each photo an initial edit. You will then receive a password to our private clients page. Here you will find your own album which you will have a private password for. These images will be watermarked and not full quality but don't worry you will still be able to view them without a problem.
DO YOU USE THE PHOTOS FROM THE SESSION?

I do, but ONLY with permission from you. I really appreciate being able to share the photographs I capture for you at your session. Viewing my work is how people see what style of photographer I am. However I competently understand if you do not want images shared there is no pressure, I would never share any images with out consent.
DO YOU SELL UNEDITED PHOTOS?

No, editing is a part of my whole process, not just capturing the photos themselves. I take huge pride in my work and will only give you beautifully edited, finished photographs that look their very best. For that reason the RAW, unedited images are not available for purchase or otherwise, simply because they are only "half-done" and not the finished product the way I envision it to be. Only I know how the images are designed to look - and my editing process is as much a part of my artistic skill as the way I take the photograph.
CAN I POST PHOTO'S ON SOCIAL MEDIA?

Yes! Please do! I love when people share their images online with friends and family! If you can tag us in your post that would be amazing. However please don’t apply any additional filters to alter or change them in any way.
CAN I BUY EXTRA IMAGES?

Of course, I don't have packages that restrict what you get so you can choose exactly what you want from a range of products. Prices start at £10 for a 7x5
CAN I PRINT THE PHOTO'S MYSELF?

If you purchase the digital of the image, Yes, of course! That said, I do like to warn people that not all prints are created equal. A lot of places will print things with strange looking colors, greenish casts, too much contrast, and just in general they wont turn out the way they are supposed to look! I spend hours editing photos to make them look a specific way, and bad printing totally reverses all my hard work. Because of this, I always recommend that you order prints through me if you want to make sure they come out perfectly. I really just want you to have high quality prints that are true to colour. Download image come with a complimentary print. I use an amazing award winning Professional Photo Printing service, who provide the very best, high quality professional photo prints.
DO YOU HAVE INSURANCE?

Yes! My gear is insured, I have liability insurance and I also have a current Enhanced DBS Check.
